3 Fall Sugar Scrub Recipes You Can Make Right Now

Looking to exfoliate your skin with an invigorating body scrub once the fall and winter seasons arrive? Turn your skin from dull to glowing by pampering yourself with these homemade fall sugar scrub recipes. They’re a great way to give yourself (or someone else) an indulgent spa treatment from the comfort of your own shower. You won’t believe how beautiful, soft and glowy your skin will be!

Fall Sugar Scrub Recipes

As the temperatures turn cooler and the indoor heaters turn up, I like to reevaluate my skin care routine and make necessary changes. And adding exfoliation is one of the best ways to prevent dry, rough skin. As seasons transition from summer to fall there’s less moisture in the air. This can wreak havoc on our skin and often leads to dry skin that’s ashy, rough or even scaly “lizard”-like.

These fall sugar scrub recipes exfoliate skin to slough away dead skin cells.

They also nourish the new skin beneath and reveal smoother skin that’s soft and glowing all over. Think of these sugar scrubs as adding an extra layering of pampering to your day-to-day regimen, especially once the cooler seasons arrive.

DIY Cinnamon Vanilla Scrub Cubes

Fall Sugar Scrub Recipes

This sugar scrub recipe smells sooo good! I love cinnamon and vanilla scents. They’re the perfect warming and relaxing combination for a body scrub. Plus they remind me of the holidays. My shower smells like fresh-baked cookies! I think this is my favorite fall sugar scrub recipe so far.

Ingredients:

Makes 4 sugar cubes.

  • 1/4 cup White Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Raw Brown Sugar
  • 3/4 ounces Shea Butter, refined**
  • 1/2 teaspoonful (2.5 mL) Vanilla Extract or Essential Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoonful ground cinnamon powder
  • 1 Brownie Bite (24 Mini Squares) Silicone Mold

** I used refined shea butter as the odor from unrefined shea butter was overpowering the other scents.

Directions:

  1. To double boiler or metal pot add shea butter and heat until melted.
  2. While the butter is melting, add sugars to a mixing bowl.
  3. Remove melted butter from heat source and let cool.
  4. Add 1/2 teaspoonful of vanilla extract to the sugar and blend in.
  5. Measure 1/4 teaspoonful of ground cinnamon powder and add to the mixture. Blend with a spatula until it’s evenly distributed.

  6. When shea butter has cooled down, combine the butter and the sugar. Mix the sugar into the melted butter.
  7. Place the Brownie Bite silicone mold on a cookie sheet to give it stability when it is moved.
  8. Fill each cavity with the butter/sugar mixture, making sure it’s packed tightly.

  9. Place cookie sheet in the freezer for about 20 minutes.
  10. Remove from mold. Place sugar cubes into a cello bag and tie with ribbon or twine.

How to Use

Apply one sugar scrub cube to wet skin when taking a shower to gently slough off dry, dead skin. Rinse off with warm water. This will leave your skin feeling so silky soft and smelling like cinnamon and vanilla.

Place sugar cubes in a small, covered jar or place in a cello bag and tie with a ribbon. Store in a cool, dry spot.
