This Honey Vanilla-Lavender DIY Moisturizing Scrub is a delicious-smelling sugar scrub with added moisturizing benefits. It will leave your skin really glowing that you may want to throw out your moisturizer! At least that was how I felt after using this sugar scrub this past week.
A DIY moisturizing scrub that’s grounded in one of my favorite mantras: less is more.
It’s a honey, brown sugar, lavender and vanilla, vitamin E oil, olive oil and aloe vera oil scrub. And you don’t even need any moisturizer after. With this sugar scrub, you kill two birds—exfoliation and hydration—with one stone. How great is that?!
As you probably know, sugar is a great natural exfoliant. It exfoliates and gently removes dead skin cells, revealing glowing skin that’s soft, smooth, and healthy-looking. It also draws moisture into the skin, keeping it hydrated.
The addition of honey makes this scrub extremely moisturizing and soothing as it helps to boost your complexion and create a healthy glow. It’s also naturally antibacterial, making it great for acne treatment and prevention. Plus it’s full of antioxidants and it slows down aging—and being in my 40’s, I need all the help that I can get! 😉
Olive oil is also super moisturizing. It soaks into the skin to get rid of dry patches. Plus it’s packed with antioxidants that work to fight free radical damage and protect your skin against harmful UV rays. Its antioxidant superpowers and moisturizing benefits make it a good addition to this DIY moisturizing scrub.
Aloe vera gel has cooling properties that can be soothing to skin that has been exposed to the sun for a long period of time. It heals inflamed, irritated, and burnt skin plus it hydrates and conditions.
Vitamin E is a naturally-occurring antioxidant that protects your skin against free radicals—you know, those bad guys in the environment that damage your skin and weaken its elasticity. Aaand since you can’t really avoid them because they come from everyday things like cigarette smoke, chemicals, pollution, and the sun, Vitamin E is sort of an invisible shield that protects and defends your skin. Plus it’s extremely moisturizing and soothing.
Vanilla-lavender fragrance oil is a soothing blend of Spanish lavender and warm Madagascar vanilla. It’s peaceful and serene, and will help calm your stress so you can relax and sleep better.

How To Use
Scoop out a handful of sugar scrub onto wet skin. Massage gently over skin in a circular motion to exfoliate and cleanse plus to work in the moisturizing honey and oils. Focus on body parts with thicker skin, like your elbows, knees, and feet.
Rinse off with warm water and pat dry with a towel. You don’t have to apply moisturizer after. Your skin will be glowing and will feel super moisturized and hydrated!
Note: Avoid using this sugar scrub on your face as facial skin is very delicate. But this scrub is gentle enough to use as a lip scrub.
